The 1913 Society, a student ambassador program established by the Office of the President, provides an opportunity for outstanding undergraduate students to serve as official hosts and goodwill ambassadors for the University. The goal of the program is to advance Georgia State’s goals and mission through service to the Office of the President. Student ambassadors represent the University and the President with the highest level of integrity and professionalism.

It is our expectation that all meetings and events sponsored by Georgia State University are accessible to individuals with disabilities. Creating an accessible event benefits not only individuals with visible or known disabilities but also helps to ensure that all participants/attendees, including individuals with non-obvious disabilities and/or chronic health conditions and people of all ages and body types, are able to fully engage in the program.
There are different ways to effectively communicate and ask participants about their accommodation needs depending on the type and location of your event.

To receive permission to serve alcohol at an on-campus event, the event sponsor must review the University’s Policy on Alcohol and other Drugs and complete the required Request to Serve Alcohol process. Click here for the policy and directions on processing the request.
If you are serving alcohol on campus, you must also hire a Georgia State Police Officer. Should you have questions, please contact GSUPD at 404-413-3213.

All vendors require a contract, whether paying with state or Foundation funds. If you are unsure whether you need a contract, please contact the office of Legal Affairs at 404-413-0500. More information about contracts and routing forms can be found at the Legal Affairs website.
Police can be hired for event security by filling out the form here.
If serving alcohol at your event, police must be hired.
Paw Prints is Gerogia State’s in-house printer.They have knowledge of the University’s branding guidelines and can help with pop-up banners, invitations, programs, signs, banners, flyers, name-badges and more. Visit their website or contact Kevin Kelley at [email protected].
You can create a guest wireless account for your non-GSU attendees. For information on how to set up an account for your event, IIT has instructions for you here.
Pounce, Georgia State’s #1 fan, is always on the prowl! You can find Pounce at Georgia State football and basketball games, as well as other athletic events. He also takes time to attend a variety of campus and community events.

Speaking requests must be received at least 30 days prior to the event. Requesting person will be contacted within 10 business days of receipt of the request.
Event equipment rentals is a service provided to Georgia State University faculty and staff, and is intended for medium to large events that require multiple pieces of presentation equipment, such as laptops, microphones, screens, and more.
